1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using VisionScan ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you ("User" or "you") and VisionScan ("we," "us," or "our") regarding your use of the App.

2. Description of Service

What VisionScan Does

VisionScan is a document scanning application for iOS devices that provides:

• Document scanning using your device's camera
• Automatic edge detection and perspective correction
• Image enhancement and processing
• OCR (Optical Character Recognition) text extraction
• PDF and image export capabilities
• Multi-page document compilation

Free Service

VisionScan is provided free of charge with no advertisements, subscriptions, or in-app purchases. We reserve the right to introduce optional premium features in the future, but core scanning functionality will remain free.

On-Device Processing

All document processing occurs entirely on your device. We do not provide cloud storage, online backup, or server-based processing services.

3. Acceptable Use

Permitted Uses

You may use VisionScan for:

• Scanning personal documents, notes, and papers
• Business document digitization
• Educational purposes and research
• Archiving and organizing physical documents
• Any lawful purpose consistent with the App's functionality

Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use VisionScan for:

• Copyright Infringement: Scanning copyrighted materials without permission (books, magazines, protected documents)
• Identity Theft: Scanning others' personal documents without authorization
• Forgery: Creating or reproducing documents for fraudulent purposes
• Privacy Violations: Scanning private documents belonging to others without consent
• Illegal Activities: Any use that violates local, state, national, or international laws
• Circumventing Security: Attempting to scan secured, classified, or restricted documents

4. User Responsibilities

Legal Compliance

You are responsible for:

• Ensuring your use of the App complies with all applicable laws
• Respecting copyright, trademark, and privacy rights of others
• Obtaining necessary permissions before scanning documents
• Using the App in accordance with your employer's policies (if applicable)

Device Security

Since VisionScan stores documents locally on your device:

• Keep your device secure with appropriate locks and passwords
• Regularly back up important scanned documents
• Be cautious when sharing your device with others
• Delete sensitive documents from the App when no longer needed

Export and Sharing

When exporting or sharing documents:

• Ensure you have the right to share the content
• Be mindful of where and how you store exported documents
• Understand the privacy policies of services you share documents with
• Remove sensitive information before sharing if necessary

5. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain all rights to documents you scan with VisionScan. We do not claim any ownership over your scanned content.

App Ownership

VisionScan, including its design, code, features, and functionality, is owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Apple Frameworks

VisionScan uses Apple's frameworks (Vision, VisionKit, Core Image, PDFKit) under Apple's developer agreement. These frameworks remain Apple's intellectual property.

6. Privacy and Data

No Data Collection

As detailed in our Privacy Policy, we do not collect, store, or transmit any user data or scanned content.

On-Device Storage

All scanned documents are stored locally on your device. You control:

• What documents you scan
• How long you keep them in the App
• Where and how you export them
• Who has access to your device and documents

Your Privacy Responsibilities

While we protect your privacy by not collecting data, you should:

• Be mindful of what you scan
• Secure your device appropriately
• Understand the privacy implications of where you export documents

7. Disclaimers and Limitations

Service Availability

VisionScan is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted availability of the App
• Compatibility with all devices or iOS versions
• Perfect accuracy of OCR or text recognition
• Error-free operation in all circumstances

OCR Accuracy

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is provided for convenience but may not be 100% accurate. You should verify important extracted text.

Hardware Dependencies

VisionScan's functionality depends on your device's camera and processing capabilities. Performance may vary by device model and condition.

8. App Store Compliance

VisionScan is distributed through the Apple App Store and is subject to:

• Apple's App Store Terms of Service
• Apple's App Store Review Guidelines
• iOS system requirements and limitations
• Apple's privacy and security standards

In case of any conflict between these Terms and Apple's terms, Apple's terms shall govern your relationship with Apple, while these Terms govern your relationship with VisionScan.

App Store Reviews and Ratings

We encourage honest feedback through the App Store review system. Please note that App Store reviews are governed by Apple's policies, not these Terms.

9. Updates and Changes

App Updates

We may release updates to improve VisionScan's functionality, security, or compatibility. Updates may:

• Add new features or capabilities
• Fix bugs or improve performance
• Update compatibility with new iOS versions
• Enhance security or privacy protections

Terms Updates

We may modify these Terms to:

• Reflect changes in the App's functionality
• Comply with legal requirements

Significant changes will be communicated through the App or our website. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Termination

Your Right to Terminate

You may stop using VisionScan at any time by:

• Deleting the App from your device
• Simply choosing not to use it

Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

• Your right to use the App ends
• Documents stored in the App remain on your device until you delete them
• No refund is applicable (as the App is free)
• These Terms no longer apply to your use of the App

Service Discontinuation

While we intend to maintain VisionScan indefinitely, we may discontinue the service by:

• Removing VisionScan from the App Store
• Ending development and support
• Providing reasonable notice when possible

11. Legal Jurisdiction and Dispute Resolution

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of VisionScan will be resolved through:

These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and VisionScan regarding your use of the App.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.

Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights and obligations to any party with reasonable notice.
